A HEART CHILDREN'S CANCER SOCIETY
Did you know that cancer is the leading cause of death among children in
the United States? Nearly 10,000 kids are diagnosed each year.
Have a Heart Children’s Cancer Society was formed for the sole purpose
of improving the quality of life for these courageous children and their
families. Their team is dedicated to collaborating with hospitals,
medical centers and other children’s organizations to locate families
who have financially fallen pray to this debilitating disease. Once
identified, they are able to assist them with medical bills, treatments,
equipment, transportation and household expenses.

The simple title above should scare you. It
is the name most people remember for the organization called 1 In 9: The
Long Island Breast Cancer Action Coalition. Back in 1990,
"one in nine" represented the chance women ran of developing
breast cancer. Today, the number is one in eight. In parts
of Suffolk County, it is one in seven. Progress has been made, but not
enough. Find out the changes Geri Barish and her group have brought
